Elwood-John H. Glenn High School’s AP Environmental Science class recently took an in-school field trip right outside the building to collect soil samples, a hands-on learning experience that brought their classroom lessons to life. Using specialized tools called soil augers, the students then headed back to the lab to conduct a full analysis, performing a variety of tests to determine crucial soil characteristics, including pH, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, porosity and soil texture.
